Nor should they throw up other formatting issues if they are formatted correctly. There should be absolutely nothing wrong with degradation of images in Word if they are applied to the doc correctly. These days Amazon says it prefers ePUB format, so I would use the file for all the platforms (I'm wide). ![]() What I need is a way of producing an ePUB that preserves the quality of the original images. The Reedsy Book Editor may work, but so far I have yet to receive my ePUB from them (how long does it normally take?). Similar comments apply to the Draft2Digital converter. I've also tried creating ePUB files from Word using the Kobo inhouse converter, but that introduces so many hopeless formatting errors that it's a waste of time. Although they are still legible, they look crap. However, when I create a MOBI on Amazon, I find there is a loss of resolution, so that what were sharp and snappy line maps are now fuzzy. ![]() When I create the PDF file (from Word) for the paperback copies, the image quality comes through fine in the PDF file and the paper copy. The first book in my series has a number of line-drawn maps in an appendix to give the reader a bit of extra detail about the future London I'm writing about. ![]() If anyone can point me to a solution, I'd be most grateful. I've encountered a problem with image quality in MOBI and ePUB files. ![]()
